Ana Vaz (b. 1986, Brasília) is an artist and filmmaker whose films, installations and performances explore complex relationships between environments, territories and hybrid histories pushing the boundaries of our perception. Recent showings of her films include the Tate Modern, TABAKALERA, Videobrasil, New York Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Cinéma du Réel & specific focuses dedicated to her work at the Flaherty Seminar (USA) and Doc’s Kingdom (Portugal). She was the 2015 recipient of the Kazuko Trust Award presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center in recognition of artistic excellence and innovation in her moving-image work.

Ana Vaz est une artiste et réalisatrice dont les films, installations et performances explorent les relations complexes entre environnement, territoire et les histoires hybrides qui repoussent les frontières de la perception. Ses films ont été montrés récemment à la Tate Modern, à TABAKALERA, Videobrasil, New York Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Cinéma du réel. Des rétrospectives de son œuvre ont été organisées au Flaherty Seminar (États-Unis) et Doc’s Kingdom (Portugal). En 2015, elle a reçu le Kazuko Trust Award présenté par la Film Society du Lincoln Center qui récompense l’excellence artistique et l’innovation dans le travail sur l’image animée.
